Meditation Circles are an opportunity to experience the energy of meditating with others. These are undirected “sits”, without instruction.

Meditation will be held from 10:45am t0 11:15am (can increase duration by group consensus) on the following Saturdays:

Journey Through the Chakras 5/20

From the Yogic perspective, the charkas are vital energy centers that exist within our physical form. These centers can be referred to as wheels of consciousness and have strong psychological underpinnings that have similarities to the western perspective of developmental psychology.

In this half day Yoga retreat you will be lead on an experiential journey through the 7 major charkas and deepen your relationship to your energetic body. You will gain an understanding of how to embrace the charkras as a means to bring greater balance to all areas of your life.

This program will include:

  • Exploration of asana (postures) for each chakra
  • Mudras (hand gestures) for chakra balancing
  • Pranayama (breathing exercise) for each chakra
  • Bija Mantras the seed sounds for each chakra
  • Body mapping and journaling as a means to record your experience
  • Exploration of the developmental aspects of each chakra
  • Awareness of the colors and elements associated with each energy center

Yin Yoga-In celebration of summer solstice 6/22

Yin Yoga is a deep, rich, meditative practice that emphasizes long holds (3-5 minutes) in Yoga postures. The majority of the poses are done on the floor. It is a complementary practice to other styles of yoga.

The long holds work beyond the level of the muscles into the connective tissue and the joints. The practice supports healthy mobility, flexibility and increased flow of energy throughout the body. The long holds also encourage a deep internal focus that cultivates psycho-emotional balance.

Settle into stillness with Ellen Schaeffer and celebrate the arrival of summer by connecting with your innate wisdom and the blessings held in each moment.
