You Are Cordially Invited to Change Your Life

Special Events: One Yoga Center, Foster RI

Welcoming Spring-“Embracing Change” a day long retreat 3/31/19

A day of quiet yoga and reflective silence

This is your time. A break just for you.

Join ellen for this day long retreat where you are offered time to settle in and explore the significance of change and your response to it.

Taking time to slow down and practice in silence offers you the opportunity to tap into aspects of yourself that are untouched by conditioning, habit and the demands of life.

Silence offers you an opportunity to recognize “habits of mind” that draw you into experiences of dissatisfaction, frustration and feelings of separation, especially in times of change. Learning to recognize, embrace and release the need to identify with or resist change is one key to a sense of inner freedom. Recognizing habitual patterns is a foundational skill for “working”  with thoughts and beliefs that are not serving you.

Utilizing a variety of Yogic tools, including moderate flow, restorative and yin Yoga, we will gather together to explore the nature of change and move into the season with a renewed perspective and greater ease.

Early registration by March 18 $60  after $70 – 10 students minimum 20 max -please invite your friends!

March 31, 2019  11:00 – 4:30p.m.

This is being held at One Yoga Center in Foster, RI. Please bring a light lunch.  Lunch break will be around 1:00.

Meditation 101 – 3/23 & 4/20

Research shows that regular meditation practice changes the brain. The changes include an increase in gray matter which is webresbwDSC_0121essential for processing information. Meditation slows down the “monkey mind” and its quieting effect generates an increased sense of wellbeing or happiness. Meditation has also been shown to be a great tool for managing anxiety, stress and depression. And, it has also been shown to improve concentration and attention.

Please note: I encourage you to visit to get a feel for the inn. It has a charming old world feel that my not be for everyone. Look through the gallery to see the bedrooms and the common spaces.  Note that we are renting the whole Inn, there will not be other guests. Read through the links under “your stay” to understand the nuances of this very unique place.  Some rooms have private baths and some do not.  Some baths have showers, some only clawfoot tubs.  There is a newly updated bathroom on the first floor with a large shower that all are welcome to use. I can not guarantee what room you will have. In shared rooms, a twin bed may need to be added to rooms with one bed.  Please let me know if you are willing to share a queen or king size bed with someone you are traveling with. We will be on island at the very start of the Cuttyhunk season. This means that the limited number of restaurants (a pizza place and a clam shack) and the single gift shop will likely be closed. It also means that the Island will be even quieter then usual and we can truly UNHOOK and retreat. Namaste.
